Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D to include two new modes

By Jack Taylor – 19 April 2011

Two new gameplay modes will be available in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, it has been confirmed.

While it was previously confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D would come with Master Quest - a revamped version of the original game with rearranged dungeons and puzzles - more has now been revealed about the mode, which itself has been revamped.

Unlike in the original, released as a bonus disc alongside The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in 2003, the land of Hyrule and everything in it will be reversed when playing Master Quest, meaning landmarks like Kakariko Village and Death Mountain will appear on the west side of the world map instead of the east side.

Many of the world's enemies and major items will also be moved to new locations, meaning knowledge of the main version of Ocarina of Time will be an inescapable hindrance when hunting for new items. Enemies will also be considerably tougher in Master Quest.

A new gameplay mode, Boss Challenge, will also be included in the main game. This will allow players to revisit previous boss battles, either one at a time or in consecutive battles.

This mode will be unlocked at a certain point in the game, though when that is has not been confirmed.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D launches in Japan on June 16, in Europe on June 17 and in North America on June 19.

Surely that's old news by now...
