SEGA AGES series to bring SEGA classics to Nintendo Switch

16 April 2018 – by Jack Taylor

SEGA has announced a revival of the SEGA AGES collection for Nintendo Switch, which will see numerous retro SEGA classics released for Nintendo's newest system.

SEGA AGES has been used as the name of a handful of different series in the past - always for reissues of classic games - and SEGA has announced that a rebooted SEGA AGES series is making its way to Nintendo Switch this summer.

Games released under the SEGA AGES banner are developed by M2, a studio well-known for its impressive emulation of games, including the SEGA 3D Classics line and the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console's Game Gear releases.

The first five games to be announced are:

  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System)
  • Gain Ground (Arcade)
  • Phantasy Star (Master System)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog (Mega Drive)
  • Thunder Force IV (Mega Drive)

Games from the SEGA AGES series will start to release on Nintendo Switch this summer.
