Pokémon Quest announced for Nintendo Switch and smart devices
30 May 2018 – by Jack Taylor
The Pokémon Company has announced the release of free-to-play title Pokémon Quest on Nintendo Switch, with a smart device version to follow.
Pokémon Quest is a new spin-off title by main series developer Game Freak, and tasks players with progressing through levels on Tumblecube Island by tapping icons to issue commands to a team of up to three Pokémon.
Everything on Tumblecube Island is a cube - including the Pokémon, which are described as 'Pokéxel' by Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori; these can be befriended and added to the player's team, and their stats can also be modified by using special items called Power Stones.
Pokémon Quest is free to download from Nintendo eShop, with certain add-on content packs available to provide additional in-game benefits; the game will also come to Android and iOS devices in late June.
