Nintendo Direct: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming to Nintendo Switch
11 January 2018 – by Jack Taylor
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which launched for Wii U in 2014, is being released for Nintendo Switch with a new beginner-friendly mode featuring Funky Kong.
Announced in the latest Nintendo Direct Mini, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will make the jump to Nintendo Switch on 4 May, a little more than 4 years after it launched for Wii U.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze sees Donkey Kong joined by Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong as they team up to defeat the Snowmads, a pesky bunch of Vikings who have brought a perpetual winter to Donkey Kong Island.
It will include all the same content as the Wii U version, as well as a new mode in which players can tackle levels as Funky Kong to make progress a little easier; Funky can double-jump, hover, avoid spikes, and perform infinite rolls and underwater corkscrews.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze launches in physical and digital formats on 4 May.
