The Legend of Zelda for Wii U no longer confirmed for 2015

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U may not release in 2015 as previously announced, according to an update from series producer Eiji Aonuma.

Speaking in a new video published by Nintendo worldwide, The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has said that having The Legend of Zelda for Wii U out in 2015 is no longer a priority of the development team.

Instead, as development has continued and the team has found "new possibilities" for the open-world adventure game, its priority is to create the "ultimate and most complete" game in the Zelda series.

Mr Aonuma stated in the video that these new possibilities caused new ideas to spring forth, giving the team the potential to create a game that could exceed even his own expectations for the game.

As a result, and as confirmed by Nintendo on Twitter, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will not feature in Nintendo's plans for the E3 2015 expo in Los Angeles this June.
