Nintendo has announced Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, a remake of the Game Boy Advance classic with a brand new mode.

Announced during Nintendo Treehouse on the first day of E3, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is a new version of the classic Game Boy Advance game, which was the first entry in the Mario & Luigi series.

It features the same story as the original Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga with brand new visuals, similar to the series' other Nintendo 3DS entry, but also includes a brand new mode called Minion Quest mode, which lets Bowser's minions fight each other over several battles.

The game will also be compatible with amiibo, including the newly announced Koopa Troopa and Goomba amiibo, as well as the existing Boo amiibo, though how the game will use them has not been announced.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions launches for Nintendo 3DS on 6 October in Europe and North America.
