Ubisoft has announced Starlink: Battle for Atlas, a space warfare game featuring interstellar open-world gameplay and model-based starship creation.
During Ubisoft's E3 presentation, Starlink: Battle for Atlas was announced for the first time, showcasing gameplay which allows players to physically clip a modular ship onto their controller and build and amend it during gameplay for quick tactical upgrades.
It was also mentioned during the presentation that a digital method would also be available, which seems to indicate that while the gameplay purpose remains the same, players will likely be able to choose whether to amend their ships via physical models or digitally instead.
Featuring open-world adventure gameplay, players will be based in System 3, within a solar system ruled over by the warlord Grax; searching for allies in the fight against Grax will also be vital.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas launches for Nintendo Switch in the autumn of 2018.
